Big Rally In The Swiss Franc Today

Today the Swiss Franc had one of its largest rallies in a long time. On June 24th I shared with all of you why I was buying the Swiss Franc and you can read my reasons for being bullish by clicking here.

Hi Kevin-

Thanks for your blogs. Do you have a suggestion as to a good broker for trading forex. And do you prefer forex over currency futures?

Thanks,

Sally

Hi Sally,

You're asking the wrong person when it comes to forex brokers...I have a friend of mine take care of all my forex trades...

I think if you do a google search on forex brokers, you can find a few good names..try to select a broker that has been around awhile and is a well known name.

I used to only trade currency futures but now that the volume has dried up I tend to trade mostly forex.

Wondered also if you were available for any mentoring.

Sally,

FWIW, check out forexbast--ds.com. Tried to cut out some of the name, but you get the idea.

Bad name, good reviews. The site is dedicated to exposing the players that want to rip you off and take your money. They will give you an idea of what people think of their various brokers.

From what I can tell, MB trading has a great reputation for good spreads, but their payment of interest leaves something to be desired. Oanda has good payment of interest and good spreads, but they are a bucket shop so you have to watch yourself. Not for the novice. Hope this helps.

Hi Robert-

Thanks for your reply. I'm wondering whether I can use Interactive Brokers. I have an account there and I know they trade forex- just not sure that its setup to be all that easy to do. Also- do you know- when Kevin talks about trading the Swiss Franc for instance, is the assumption that the Swiss Franc in the base currency and the other part of the pair is the USD?

Hi Sally,

Yes, when I talk about the swiss franc I am refering to the swiss franc vs the U.S. Dollar....The swiss is the base currency.
